Luka's show wins

Luka's kids

Luka came to us in the summer of 2001, co-owned with his breeder Jackie Perkins of the world famous Gardenway affix. His sire is "Hanafor by Tummel" (imported from Australia), his dam is "Sh Ch Gardenway Dawn Breeze".

Luka has had a very successful show career, winning "Best Puppy in Show" at his first two shows , firstly at the Hungarian Vizsla Club Championship Show (Angela Saunders) and then at their Open Show. (Karen Bicknell).

Luka: 4 months old

Moves as straight as a die!

At Chepstow Show in August 2004 Luka won Best In Show from an entry of around 400 dogs. That win qualified him to compete for South Wales Open Show Dog of the Year in April 2005.

Luka is a proven sire. From his first litter one of his daughters "Rosie" won The BASC Big 5 South West Heat. Another from the same litter went to commence "sniffer dog" training.

He has sired 4 litters to date. Out of all the puppies sired we have helped the breeders place nearly 75% of all puppies produced. We are able to do that as we constantly have enquiries for pups sired by him (through this website or people having seen Luka for themselves at championship shows). The puppies that we have seen from his litters (including our own!) seem to have inherited his substance, outgoing outlook on life and lovely temprament.

His daughters from our litter from Nattie certainly look like peas in a pod, proof of his pre-potency.

Crufts has always been a good show for Luka, in 2002 he was 1st in Special Puppy Dog (Angela Boys). In 2003 he was 2nd (to his brother) in Special Yearling (Di Arrowsmith). In 2005 he was 2nd in Open Dog to the eventual CC winner (Pam Blay) and in 2006 he was 4th in a hotly contested Open Dog class.

Crufts 2004:

PGD.1. Austin & Perkins Gardenway Drummond. On my first appraisal this dog caught my eye with his true Vizsla outline. I have written that he excited me when I went over him, completely typical in head, excellent expression, clean arched neck into super forehand, correct in rib, strength in loin. Well muscled well placed hindquarters with good width of second thigh, low hock, straight form rear view. Absolutely true coming and going and lively action with reach and drive going round the ring. On this performance could not be denied the CC. Should make up in a breath.

Pasty Hollings. Dog World March 19th 2004

He won his second CC at Bath 2004 under Dick Evans (Magyar). At South Wales Championship Show 9th July 2005 Luka won the reserve CC under Mr Nev Newton (Nevedith)

At Paignton & District Fanciers Association July 15th 2005 Luka won his 3rd CC under Mrs. Zena Thorn-Andrews (Drakesleat).

This makes him a Show Champion.

Luka, like Nattie and Muppet does Agility, he also helps with dogs with behavioural problems. Although he has done basic gundog training, his real forte is keeping an eye on his humans! He has completed the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award with ease.

Crufts 2007 - so handsome!

Luka now lives with Ian Walker and family. He is having a wonderful life full of long walks and warm fires!
